- We did that. Tuesday was a blue tsunami, and we were the wave. Democrats flipped the House and the Senate, and all across this country, red turned blue because Black folks, led by Black women, showed all the way up.
- Georgia has a governor named Keisha. Keisha Lance Bottoms became the first Black woman ever elected governor in American history. Let that sink in, then say it out loud.
- On this very day in 1989, Virginia elected Doug Wilder, the first Black governor in U.S. history. From Wilder then to a wave of Black governors now, the line runs straight through our votes.
- Celebrate hard, then clock back in. Winning the seats is round one. Protecting the win and pushing these leaders to deliver is the real work, and it starts now. We lay it out below.

Good Morning, Fam'!
Fire up the grill. We earned this one. Tuesday night, this country felt a blue tsunami, the House flipped, the Senate flipped, and states nobody thought were in play turned colors. And let's tell the truth about why, because they will not: it was us. Black voters, carried on the backs of Black women who knocked the doors, ran the phone banks, drove the elders, and refused to be told our vote did not matter. The party did not save us. We showed up for the country, again, and the country moved because we did.
And look at the names. Keisha Lance Bottoms is the governor of Georgia, the first Black woman ever elected governor in the history of the United States. Sit with the weight of that. Black governors are now serving across the map at the same time, something this country has never seen. And right here in our own Virginia, this is the exact day, November 6, 1989, that we sent Doug Wilder to the governor's mansion as the first Black elected governor in America. From Wilder to Keisha, from a single first to a whole wave, that is not luck. That is a people who kept voting through every closed door they put in front of us.
So yes, celebrate. Have the cookout. Post the picture. Call your people and holler. But keep your boots by the door, because here is the part nobody at the party wants to say: between now and the day these new majorities are sworn in and governing, there will be shenanigans, challenges, delays, every trick to slow down what we just won. The seats are won. The power is not secured until they actually deliver. This issue is about how we guard this win and push every single person we just elected, using the newest tools to amplify our voice louder than ever. We voted them in. Now we make them work. Let's build.
Gemini Omni 1.2 | Now Our Message Can Look as Big as It Is
THE SCOOP
Google just released Gemini Omni 1.2 Flash, an AI that creates and edits real video from a text prompt or a few reference images. You can make a polished 15 second clip, then tweak it by just talking to it, swap the background, change the lighting, fix the words, no film crew, no editing degree. And it is cheap, around seven cents a second for high quality video, 30 percent less than the last version.
THE VIBE CHECK
For generations, the people with the budget controlled the message. A slick video cost thousands and a studio. Not anymore. Now a community organizer, a small business, or a regular person with something to say can make a scroll stopping video for the price of a coffee. This is the megaphone we never had. We just proved we have the votes. Now we have the production power to keep our story in front of the people, on our terms, in our voice.
Three plays to keep the momentum from fizzling. Original strategies to turn Tuesday's energy into lasting power, and to make sure the people we elected never forget who put them there.
MOVE 1 | THE FIRST 100 DAYS LETTER
The need: newly elected officials are most responsive in the first weeks, before the lobbyists get comfortable. The play: while the glow is still on, use AI to help you write one clear letter to a leader you helped elect, naming the 3 things your community needs from them first. Send it now, in week one. Be the voice in their ear before anybody else is. The early ask gets remembered.
MOVE 2 | THE VICTORY TO VIDEO PIPELINE
The need: the energy of this week fades fast if nobody keeps telling the story. The play: use the new AI video tools to make a short, powerful clip, what this win means for us, what we expect next, and share it. A 15 second video that captures this moment and this demand will travel farther than any paragraph. Turn the celebration into content that keeps the pressure on.
MOVE 3 | THE WATCH LIST
The need: the shenanigans between now and the swearing in happen quietly, when we are not looking. The play: set up an AI brief to track the transition, the certifications, the challenges, the appointments, in your state. Know the moves as they happen so you can respond fast. The other side wins in the quiet. Do not give them the quiet.
MEGA PROMPT | KEEP THE PRESSURE ON
MY COMMUNITY: [YOUR CITY/STATE AND THE 3 ISSUES YOU MOST WANT ACTION ON]
1. THE DEMANDS: Help me turn my 3 issues into clear, specific asks I can put in front of an elected official.
2. THE LETTER: Draft a strong, respectful first 100 days letter to a leader I helped elect.
3. THE STORY: Give me a short script for a video that celebrates the win and names what we expect next.
4. THE WATCH: Tell me what to monitor during the transition so no one quietly undoes what we voted for. [TELL ME TO CONFIRM OFFICIAL INFO AT MY STATE OR LOCAL GOVERNMENT WEBSITE]
5. THE CREW: Show me how to pull a handful of people into a small accountability group so this is a movement, not just me."
For anything official, transition dates, how to contact your representatives, confirm the details at your state or local government website.
STRATEGY 1 | PUT A FACE ON THE NUMBERS
The headlines say turnout. Make it personal. Use AI video to make a quick clip of why you voted and what you want delivered, in your own words and face. Data moves pundits. Faces move people. When your neighbors see one of their own speaking truth, they lean in and they share.
STRATEGY 2 | THE THANK YOU THAT TEACHES
Post a thank you to the Black women who carried this election, and inside it, teach the lesson: this is what organized people look like. Use AI to make it clean and shareable. A celebration that doubles as a blueprint inspires the next person to pick up the work, not just clap for it.
AFFILIATE SPOTLIGHT
CapCut: Take your AI clips and turn them into polished, captioned videos ready for Reels, TikTok, and Shorts, with easy editing and auto captions built in. Make your message move. Free to start.

Learn What Black Women Just Taught the Whole Country
What won Tuesday was not magic, it was organizing, and organizing is a professional skill worth real money. The Black women who led this wave ran logistics, managed people, hit targets under pressure, and moved a whole community toward a goal. That is project management, team leadership, and operations, the exact skills that get you hired and promoted. Take what you watched this season and name it on your resume and in your interviews. The person who can rally people and execute a plan is valuable in any building, political or corporate. Study the win, then put it to work on your career.
WHAT I DID: [THE ORGANIZING, VOLUNTEERING, OR LEADERSHIP YOU HAVE DONE, FORMAL OR NOT]
1. THE TRANSLATION: Turn what I did into professional skill language, project management, leadership, operations, communication.
2. THE RESUME: Write me 3 strong resume bullet points from this experience.
3. THE STORY: Give me a sharp interview answer that uses this to prove I can lead and execute.
4. THE NEXT LEVEL: Suggest roles or moves where these skills are in high demand."
The Momentum Map | Don't Let This Energy Die
Every movement has a graveyard of good energy that fizzled after the big night. We know the pattern. This prompt helps you turn this week's high into a concrete plan so the momentum becomes a machine instead of a memory.
MY SITUATION: [WHAT YOU AND YOUR COMMUNITY CARE ABOUT, AND WHAT YOU CAN REALISTICALLY COMMIT]
1. THE RISK: Tell me honestly where and why this kind of energy usually dies after an election.
2. THE ANCHOR: Help me pick one concrete thing to build or organize that keeps people engaged.
3. THE RHYTHM: Design a simple monthly rhythm, meeting, check in, or action, that sustains it.
4. THE HANDOFF: Show me how to share leadership so it does not all rest on me and burn me out.
5. THE 90 DAY GOAL: Give me one clear, winnable goal to aim for in the next 90 days."
High Value Skill: Momentum 🌊
Here is the hardest truth about winning: the celebration is the dangerous part. History is full of our people winning a huge victory and then relaxing, only to watch the other side quietly claw it back while we rested. Reconstruction was a win. We know how that ended when we stopped pushing. Momentum is the skill of riding a victory into the next one instead of letting it crest and fall. It means celebrating fully, then immediately asking what is next and keeping the machine moving. The cookout is earned. The nap is not. Learn to turn a win into fuel, and you become the kind of person, and the kind of community, that compounds power instead of spending it.
This Week's Challenge: Celebrate this weekend, all the way. Then before Monday, write down one thing you will personally keep doing to protect and build on this win over the next year. One commitment, in writing.
Have the cookout. Earn it loud. Then Monday, we clock back in, because a people who know how to win AND how to hold a win cannot be stopped.
Gemini Omni: The AI video tool from today's issue. Make a 15 second clip that tells our story and names what we expect next, for the price of a coffee. Our megaphone, finally.
5 Calls: Find your representatives and get scripts to call them about the issues you care about. The fastest way to put your voice directly in their ear, starting this week.
Aisha: The AI assistant built by us. Use it to draft your demands, map your momentum, and organize your crew for the work ahead. Use it and help it grow.
From Doug Wilder in 1989 to a governor named Keisha today, the line runs straight through our votes, our women, our refusal to quit. We turned red to blue because we showed up, again, for a country that rarely shows up for us. So celebrate loud this weekend. You earned every bit of it. Then keep your boots by the door, because the seats are won but the work is not. We voted them in. Now we make them deliver. See you Tuesday, fam.
